The Three Main Clubs for the Goth Crowd in Columbia
Eastside Live: 1016 E. Broadway (near northwest corner of Broadway X Hitt St.) 573-874-0650
Newest venue in Columbia specializing in " Sci-Fi , Horror , & Rock n' Roll," which includes various genres of Hard Rock: Metal, Goth, Industrial, Punk. Recently opened by Sal Sal Nuccio, who also owns the bar, Eastside Tavern, across the street from the club. Eastside Live has a real Eastcoast feel, reflecting Sal's NYC origens.
Monday is goth/industrial night at Eastside Live, with our own DJ Embyr spinning goth, industrial, darkwave, and ebm, as well as some
rockabilly, psychobilly, and punk as requested (may be rescheduled for touring live acts) starting 9:30 pm (or fashionably later). Cover is $2 and there's *free* pool!!
Some of the gothic crowd also comes out for Dannyboyz 80's Retro show on Thursday nights.
Shattered: 514 E. Broadway (573) 874-0650
The old Shattered (on Cherry St) hosted Columbia's Goth Night for a few years. The new Shattered hosts live Gothic musicians and fellow travelers.
Blue Note: 17 N 9th St. (573) 874-1944
Last but not least is the Blue Note. This is the biggest venue in Columbia for bands, esp. national acts.
Check out their page for a listing of upcoming events and ticket info.
They tend not to book gothic/industrial bands but occasionally have a good
show.
The Downunder Bar: (1201 E. Broadway)
Closed in 2001. RIP.
