Bands, The Arts, Radio, On-Line Stores, etc....
I read once in the PitchWeekly (Weekly
Newspaper for Kansas City) that "Something about Columbia MO --perhaps the
sleepy college town life or its close proximity to nowhere --spawns bands steeped
in Gothic pop." Now I don't agree with the entire statement but it does hold true in
one respect, something about this town makes great music sources like...
Odor Of Pears.
An excellent band consisting of 3 of my favorite people.
Please visit their excellent page which includes reviews, sound clips
(in Real Audio format), bio, and info on their wonderful new cd Mortal.
Babylon HoR
Consisting of Mr. Benjamin Kapps and Caroline.
Their page features a discography, preformances,
pics, contact info, etc. They just released their debut cd:
"Speculum Ziggurat"
now available at Streetside Records (Columbia) and
on the web at Dead Elf
or from Babylon HoR themselves via mail:
send $12ppd payable to Caroline Jack to
Babylon HoR

SodaAsh
One of the hardest working band I know. Fronted by
that kooky, crazy, and sexy girly Erin who's backed up
by Erma, John, and Josh. Check their site, buy their new cd "Sci Fi Lullaby",
now darn it! Sci Fi Lullaby is available at Street Side Records (Columbia) for $6, at their shows and
you may also contact them through their web site for info.
Soda Ash is still in format at KCOU 88.1 (see info on KCOU below),
so call to request their songs (882-8262).
*Copies of the CD are available at Streetside Records for $6.
*Finally, we are looking for a second guitarist who will be able to tour
with us this summer.
Lucinati
One of the newer bands to enter the Columbia scene. Vocals by Marsha
and Music by Bella. This is a real treat for those of you who are Projekt fans, i.e. ethereal darkwave
to the core kiddies.
Luftwaffe
A side project of John Stebbins of SodaAsh
and Benjamin Kapps of Babylon HoR. To quote
the band "It was formed as a
disestablishmentarianist movement--and is very indebted to the genius of Boyd Rice and the all too mortal Aleister
Crowley..."
Lupine Arts is a Columbia, Missouri based coalition devoted to
promoting Gothic, Industrial and Avante-Garde music and theatre. It was

dark underground art scenes in Columbia...Recent events
affiliated with Lupine:
- All performances and releases of Babylon HoR
- All performances of now defunct industrial band Hackfleisch
- HAMLETMACHINE: MU theatrical production
- DISASSEMBLY1, avante-garde art forum
